A KRÓNAN PROJECT
THE BRIEF:
This project delves into the role of supermarkets in the transformation of food systems.
Collaborating with Krónan, we will engage in applied explorations of the systems linked with Krónan such as food production, transportation, conservation, or distribution, but also the spatial and sensory experience of buying food or the role of the digital in the supermarket environment.

A Storytelling Journey Through Dairy and Food Culture
Reimagining Our Relationship with Food
Matarsögur is an interactive design project that invites children (and their grown-ups) to reconnect with the stories behind the food we eat—specifically dairy. In a world where convenience often distances us from where things come from, this project uses play and storytelling to build curiosity, connection, and care around everyday ingredients.
Child-Centered Experience
Engaging children directly through tactile, imaginative play rooted in education and empathy can have the most meaningful impact.
Why Children? Why Now?
Children are the future stewards of our food systems. Matarsögur centers them as explorers, storytellers, and learners. They step into the roles of farmers, milkers, and makers, learning how food is grown, harvested, and turned into something nourishing.
Weaving Stories Into Everyday Ingredients
The focus on dairy is intentional: it’s both familiar and rich in unseen complexity. By tracing milk’s journey from farm to fridge, the installation opens up wider conversations about sustainability, labor, tradition, and care.
A Blend of Education and Imagination
This is not just about information—it’s about emotional connection. Through storytelling, tactile elements, and immersive design, Matarsögur helps children build a deeper, more personal relationship with the foods they see every day.
